At “Summerslam,” John Cena had what many are considering a match of the year contender with AJ Styles. He came out on the losing side of the match, but it was another great match that involved Cena.
It’s been reported that Cena is going to be taking a hiatus away from WWE to film the next season of “American Grit” for the FOX network. Cena wasn’t present during SmackDown this past week, and the “armband angle” after his loss to Styles at “Summerslam” has created a lot of speculation about his in-ring future in WWE.
However, it is being reported by RingSideNews.com that John Cena will be back in the ring before the end of the year, and the expectation is that his feud with AJ Styles will continue.
Cena vs. Styles is such a huge feud that it could continue to build depth for a long time. Now that Styles has gotten his win, it would be Cena’s return to get the clean victory once he returns to WWE programming.
After that, there are several options for Cena after the feud with Styles is done. The bigger question is if Cena vs. Styles will be for the WWE Championship whenever SmackDown picks the feud back up again?
