Yesterday, it was revealed that UFC was officially being sold to WME-IMG Group for four billion dollars. The following is part of the statement made after the purchase:
“The league, which promotes mixed martial arts, is expected to announce as soon as Monday that it has sold itself to a group led by the talent giant WME-IMG for about $4 billion, according to people with direct knowledge of the matter. Backing the deal are the private equity heavyweights Silver Lake, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts, and the investment firm of the billionaire Michael S. Dell.”
There have been no indications of WWE being sold to anyone considering how well the company is doing right now. But, UFC’s sale has brought up the conversation.
According to some information from CageSideSeats.com, there are several sources that are estimating that the company’s value would be somewhere in the mid-three billion dollar range.
However, a deal of that magnitude would take awhile to get right, and there is no indication that Vince is looking to see, so this is all just a what if kind of scenario if McMahon ever changed his mind.
Do you think we’ll ever see Vince McMahon retire or sell the company?
