Rumor: Heath Slater and Rhyno Could Win SmackDown Tag Team Championship at “Backlash”

Heath Slater and Rhyno are currently the only team in the finals of the SmackDown Tag Team Tournament heading into “Backlash.” They’ll be facing The Usos or The Hype Bros in the finals.

Their pairing is random, unique, and much more. However, it’s working for some reason, and there are a lot of people pulling for them to win the SmackDown Tag Team Championship.

Earlier this week, it was reported that The Usos were the frontrunners to win the SmackDown Tag Team Titles at “Backlash,” but there is the potential for WWE to pull a swerve.

According to CageSideSeats.com, there is still a chance that WWE may decide to run with Slater’s current run of momentum for at least a little while.

Even if it only lasts from “Backlash” this Sunday to next week’s SmackDown, WWE may throw the fans a bone. If that does happen, there is no question that The Usos will be the ones taking the titles from them.

WWE has something unique with the Heath Slater “free agent” angle, so the potential for a payoff with the angle could pay dividends for Slater long after this angle has run its course.
