Sometimes the obvious storyline is the best storyline when it comes to a wrestling show. For example, it was obvious that Shane and Stephanie McMahon were headed for a feud when their father forced them to run Monday Night Raw together at “Payback.”
Since then, Shane and Stephanie have been in a “friendly” competition, but the latter has been foreshadowing that she’s planning something and is just waiting for the right time to strike against her brother.
Just last night, Teddy Long made a surprise return to make his case for the General Manager position when SmackDown goes live in July.
Stephanie rebuffed his claim and said:
“My father wants someone in charge of SmackDown who is intelligent, who is young, who is vivacious, who is smart, who had business acumen, someone who is going to bring in the New Era right! That’s not my brother Shane McMahon. I’m going to let you in on a little secret Teddy…it’s going to be me!”
According to a report from DailyWrestlingNews.com, the feud between Shane and Stephanie is about to pick up the pace because the WWE Draft will be here before we know it and as the details of the brand extension become clearer, their sibling rivalry will be featured more heavily on WWE television.
Do you think the brand extension is going to make The Authority angle more entertaining in WWE?
