Roman Reigns Responsible For Recent Rise of Independent Wrestling

For the past four years, WWE officials have been promoting Roman Reigns as the top babyface in the company. He’s main evented the last four WrestleMania events, but he is still routinely booed out of arenas on a regular basis. That’s why some fans are very unhappy and don’t believe he deserves his position in the company and on WWE TV.

His critics are too busy criticizing how he continuously impacts WWE programming in a negative way to realize the positive effect he has on the industry as a whole. According to RingSideNews, Reigns might be responsible for the growth of the independent scenes.

One of the common complaints is WWE doing what is best for the company and not for the fans. That’s allowed more wrestling fans to get their wrestling elsewhere and more independent promotions and shows are willing to give their consumer what they want because they don’t have to deal with sponsors or certain restrictions like WWE officials.

WWE officials also make many decisions that fans don’t agree with, and the blame can’t all be placed on Roman Reigns. However, he’s become the face of the WWE agenda. The angle of pushing Roman as the underdog is to gain sympathy from the WWE Universe, but he’s still not completely over as WWE’s top babyface even after four years of trying.

Clearly, the company isn’t planning to end his push any time soon. WWE programming isn’t going to be for everyone, but there are plenty of options if that’s the case. The next time you are unhappy because of Roman’s booking, watch another product and get your wrestling fix elsewhere. There’s plenty of wrestling in the world for everyone.
