Rey Mysterio will always be a household name in this business and he’s always going to have something to offer a wrestling product, even if he doesn’t wrestle.

It’s no secret that his body can’t take the grind of wrestling full-time anymore. For a few years, watching him wrestle and continue to get injured was like watching “The Little Engine That Could” continue to break down.

The problem is if Mysterio must wrestle, he should be doing it sporadically and on special occasions. However, his options are limited. He’s currently in the middle of a contract dispute with AAA, and his time in Lucha Underground could be extended, or it could just be for season two, which just finished filming.

That leaves the door open for Rey Mysterio to return to WWE for Wrestlemania season and potentially enter a feud with a number of superstars, including current United States Champion Kalisto.

Rey Mysterio had the following to say about how he left things with WWE and a potential return:

“I didn’t leave on bad terms. I left on good terms with WWE, so I don’t want to say never. They treated me very well, and I’m nothing but thankful with that company for letting Rey Mysterio be Rey Mysterio and be recognized worldwide. If the opportunity comes about in the future, and there is interest from both parties, then why not?”
