It looks like the WWE Universe is going to get used to Stardust because the character is here to stay. Stardust recently posted the following on Twitter:

The reaction for Stardust has never been overwhelmingly positive from the WWE Universe, but there is clearly something personal there for the performer because there has been a great demand for the return of Cody Rhodes ever since Dusty Rhodes passed away, but the Stardust character remains the focus.

There isn’t anything wrong with the Stardust character, but he hasn’t had much momentum in WWE since debuting in 2014. Ultimately, Cody Rhodes as a performer under many different gimmicks was a two-time Intercontinental Champion and a five-time WWE Tag Team Champion with four different opponents.

Ultimately, Cody Rhodes as a performer under many different gimmicks was a two-time Intercontinental Champion and a five-time WWE Tag Team Champion with four different opponents. Stardust has had one Tag Team title reign in the last two years.

Honestly, why couldn’t Cody Rhodes do both? In his prime, Mick Foley was pulling off three different characters simultaneously. Rhodes having two different characters could make for an interesting dynamic with the WWE Universe.

The fans would have to ask if they’d be seeing Stardust or Cody on that particular night. That would give him a unique gimmick that no one else can do.
