Former United States Champion Alberto Del Rio has been suffering from a lower back injury since the end of January. The injury was apparently caused by a German Suplex from Brock Lesnar during the “Royal Rumble” match a few weeks ago.

Del Rio is still being advertised and is expected to wrestle Kalisto for the United States Championship at “Fastlane” in two weeks. Despite that, it’s being said that he is still suffering from the injury and his time in the ring will be limited before the “Fastlane” PPV.

Recently, Del Rio claimed that he was putting over Kalisto the same way that Rey Mysterio did for him. Alberto said the following about his feud with Kalisto:

“Now, I’m doing the same thing for Kalisto to see if he can have the same success I had. Hopefully there’s more Mexican wrestlers in WWE one day. I wish him the best in his life and his career.”

If that’s the case, it’s very unlikely that Del Rio would want to bury the new United States Champion by taking the title from him again, so it’s very likely that the title will remain with Kalisto until Wrestlemania, and maybe even beyond that.
