However, a team loss to John Cena and other superstars at Summerslam 2010 drastically hurt the group’s momentum until it died a slow death and slowly fazed off of WWE television.
The Nexus in its inception was a remarkable idea. It would have been wonderful to have a stable full of young talent that was united and dominant over WWE.
Over time, the group would lose members and new ones would take their place because it was a group filled with young talent. The stable eventually failed, but there is always the possibility of it returning.
During a recent interview, Ryback was quoted discussing the potential for a Nexus reunion someday and said the following:
“No matter what our personal feelings are with each other, we have this bond from that moment. Unfortunately, some of the guys are no longer in the WWE, but never say never. You could always bring guys back to do something special again, and I know we have all talked about it from a talent standpoint, but it would have to be in the right moment, the right circumstance, and I believe the WWE Universe would love a Nexus reunion in the future.”
