So, Brock Lesnar is heading back to UFC for a return fight against an opponent yet to be announced. It’s going to be a great night, and the cross promotion between UFC and WWE is truly unique.
The entire situation is unbelievable on paper because you’d never think that Vince McMahon would approve this, but you can “never say never” in this business.
The real question in this situation is if this is a one-time thing because it’s Brock Lesnar, or if this is the start of a beautiful friendship between the two companies.
For example, WWE has been trying to get Ronda Rousey on WWE programming for quite some time. While all the backstage politics of the situation aren’t clear, could WWE be allowing UFC to utilize Lesnar for UFC 200 so they can use Ronda Rousey for “Summerslam?”
Rousey has been noticeably absent from UFC ever since being knocked out by Holly Holm back in November, He’s been recovering and training for her return fight in UFC, but the latest update on that from Dana White claims that he hopes she’ll be back for December.
Keeping her in the public limelight for a few more months in WWE would definitely be beneficial for UFC, and it’s something that WWE has been trying to do for quite some time.
If that were to happen, Ronda could be the first of many to crossover between the two companies. No matter what, we’re going to have to see how Brock Lesnar does at UFC 200 first. That is of the utmost importance.
Do you think Ronda Rousey could appear on WWE programming?
