“Of course, this may be my last Royal Rumble match. I’ve done everything there is to do, except winning a Royal Rumble match. Man, I can’t leave it up for somebody else to interpret it. I gotta say it. I got to interpret it to the fans, and just for my legacy. I wanna win. I wanna win. I wanna go to Wrestlemania. I want to have a match that I can end my career on and live up to my expectations that I’ve always set for myself. I’m just hoping for the best, but more than anything, I have to make it happen.
You talk about ending your career, to be able to end and take my boots off in the middle of the ring at Wrestlemania. There is nothing better than that. Outside of my kids being born, my Wrestlemania experiences are the ones that move me the most. I’m a little touched right now, but it’s what we do it for. You know, we don’t do it just for ourselves. We do it for the accomplishments, so that other people, other greats, other legends will see us and say, “Hey, that’s a champion right there. I mean, it don’t get more serious than that.”
What’s interesting is WWE.com has removed Henry from the list of entrants in the match. It’s possible that it’s just an error, but Henry’s words came off very strongly, and it’s curious that he wouldn’t be in the match at all.
It’s extremely unlikely that he’ll win the “Royal Rumble” and become the WWE Champion, but Henry can still have a big moment and end his career on a high note.
