This year, WWE is going to induct Sting into the WWE Hall of Fame. That’s a great thing. There are few that deserve the honor more than “The Franchise of WCW”.

While WWE is honoring the face of their past rival, there is another face that a lot of people recognize with WCW as much as Sting. For many, especially those that grew up in the Attitude Era, former WCW World Heavyweight Champion Bill Goldberg was the face of WCW.

His undefeated streak of 173 wins without a loss was one of the best runs anyone has had in this industry. A lot of people forget in the current day that in the late 90’s, The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin were red-hot in this industry, but Bill Goldberg matched them from a momentum standpoint for WCW.

That’s an incredible feat for someone who barely spoke. Kevin Nash ending Goldberg’s streak at Starrcade 1998 is still one of the biggest moments in WCW history, even though “The Fingerpoke of Doom” ruined that storyline.

Sure, Goldberg’s WWE run in 2003 and 2004 was disappointing. But it’s actually a testament to how over he was as a performer that two years passed after WCW went down and Goldberg became a top face in WWE immediately and for the majority of his run that year. He was also the WWE Champion for several months too.

The point being that if WWE is truly interested in honoring WCW with Sting’s induction, why not allow Bill Goldberg to accept his place in history as well.

He’s been rumored to return to WWE a few times over the past couple of months. Bill has claimed that he’d like to change how he left WWE. It would also be an amazing sight to see Goldberg go into the Hall of Fame as the crowd chants his name once again.

The fans would embrace him, and it would be a nice finish to his time in this business. Stone Cold just confirmed that he’ll be in Texas for Wrestlemania 32, why can’t Austin induct Goldberg into the Hall of Fame?

Bill Goldberg was a WCW and WWE Champion. For a time, he was arguably the hottest performer in the industry at a height of the Attitude Era. Not only that, but it’s a proper ending for the fans to show appreciation for a man that deserves better than Wrestlemania 20.

It would be a great thing for all involved to see Bill Goldberg go into the WWE Hall of Fame this year.
