On SmackDown Live, Trish Stratus returned to WWE television. Almost immediately, Charlotte Flair walked into the arena and set up a dream match for SummerSlam. The WWE Universe is ecstatic to see Flair vs. Stratus in less than two weeks. However, that’s also a major issue. Trish Stratus has less than two weeks to train for her in-ring return.
Trish Stratus is obviously in great shape, but there’s a difference between that and ring shape. Since her initial retirement in 2006, Stratus has been featured in tag matches or battle royals. It’s been a long time since Trish Stratus wrestled a genuine singles match.

According to a report from RingSideNews, Brad Shepard stated on the Oh, You Didn’t Know podcast that Trish and Charlotte are putting the match together themselves along with Fit Finlay, their agent for the bout. Reportedly, Trish training constantly in Toronto and Charlotte and Finlay are scheduled to go over their match with her later this week.
In some ways, it’s like riding a bike. However, it’s not the worst idea to feel your partner out in the ring before a major show like SummerSlam. They can plan and practice their spots and get a sense of their chemistry in the ring together before their dream match.
Another report from RingSideNews is claiming that Trish Stratus is planning to use the Figure Four Leg Lock on Charlotte during the match. The move has become a norm fora lot of wrestlers, but Trish using it against Flair has a lot more meaning. On paper, WWE fans can expect a solid match between the two women if they’re putting in some work.
