You can’t blame him for being upset. There are very few Hispanic stars, or stars in general, on the level of Rey Mysterio. He is one of the biggest names in the history of wrestling and a lot of that stems from his iconic mask. It is one of the most famous looks in wrestling and while he has been see wrestling without it, the idea of seeing it again is almost impossible to fathom. That’s why Monday was so surprising.

During this week’s Monday Night Raw, Mysterio was defeated by Andrade in a gauntlet match. After the pinfall, Andrade ripped at Mysterio’s mask, exposing his face in the process. Ricochet made the save to prevent the entire mask from being removed. After the show, Mysterio discussed what it meant to have his mask ripped off, saying that only Eddie Guerrero and Randy Orton had done so in WWE. This is more interesting as he left off Chris Jericho, who unmasked Mysterio at Extreme Rules 2009.

Mysterio wasn’t happy. Check out his reaction to the incident:

This seems important too. Check out Andrade tearing the mask, with the shot of Mysterio’s face having been edited out:

Opinion: That sounds like a way to set up a mask vs. hair match at Summerslam, which would be a great culmination for the rivalry between these two. They have had some great matches in the past and having a big time match like this on the grand stage would be a nice moment. If nothing else, it would be nice to have a real possibility of Mysterio losing, which would have seemed unthinkable before.
