Kevin Owens vs. Roman Reigns in the Finals, Not Dean Ambrose

It was revealed earlier today that Roman Reigns is essentially a lock to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at “Survivor Series”. Unless plans change significantly, Reigns is beating Cesaro tonight.

Tonight, Alberto Del Rio faces Kalisto, and the winner will face Reigns in the semifinals on Sunday. Kevin Owens will battle Neville tonight and Dolph Ziggler faces Dean Ambrose on the other side of the bracket.

Del Rio vs. Kalisto is really interesting. Ambrose vs. Ziggler is too. However, the most exciting match of the night for me is Nevile vs. Owens. I’ve wanted to see them feud in NXT. They had one match in NXT before Neville got called up. This match-up is a big fight situation for them, and it’ll be a fun match.

Kevin Owens is most likely getting the win. He’s the one major heel in this tournament, and he’s the Intercontinental Champion. Neville is good, but Owens has a lot of momentum. He’s the only guy that could compete with Bray Wyatt for the top heel position on the roster.

Owens is a great heel, and he is elevating the IC title very well. The deeper Owens goes in the tournament, the more prestigious the Intercontinental Championship becomes.

A lot of people think it’ll be Ambrose vs. Owens in the semifinals with Ambrose going over to set up Dean vs. Reigns. That’s an awesome match because of their friendship and the possibility of heel turns.

In my mind, Owens vs. Reigns is a top heel vs. a top face. It’s wrestling 101, and that’s a good feud to get Reigns to Royal Rumble. Owens vs. Reigns would elevate both championships and keep Reigns’ momentum as a face going into Wrestlemania 32.

If WWE is going to market Cena vs. Reigns at Wrestlemania this year, Reigns is going to need a lot of momentum to make it believable he can beat Cena clean. That’s why he needs Kevin Owens over the next few months.

If WWE doesn’t do that, Owens could also feud with Dean Ambrose over the IC title. Ambrose and Owens are going to have a great match at “Survivor Series”, but Ambrose going over Owens kind of makes a feud between them pointless.

If we already see Ambrose beat Owens, that takes away a lot of the tension of their feud since we already saw the face win. Unless Ambrose turns heel, he’s going to lose to Reigns and need a feud.

Ambrose vs. Owens was most likely the original plan before Rollins got hurt for the IC Championship. Those two on the microphone is going to be awesome. Ambrose is also a top face and could be a great IC Champion.

 

Both feuds are great, but we should be Owens vs. Reigns in the final at “Survivor Series”. Rollins was the top heel, and that’s where he’ll be missed the most. He’s going to be a top face when he comes back.

WWE has three top faces in Cena, Orton, and Bryan that will be back soon. They have plenty of faces, but they need more heels. Bray Wyatt is feuding with The Undertaker. He’s fine.

Owens is the next guy for Reigns. It would build both titles and men at the same time for the Road to Wrestlemania. This feud could be something special. WWE needs to go back to basics.
