On tonight’s episode of Monday Night Raw, Michael Cole announced that Randy Orton is suffering from a potential injury. Cole revealed that Orton had missed this past weekend’s WWE live events in Mexico, and he is not on Raw tonight to continue the hype to his tag match with Dean Ambrose against Braun Strowman and Luke Harper. Cole, JBL and Bryon Saxton also teased that Orton’s injury may have been caused by The Wyatt Family.

This could potentially be a storyline injury, especially considering that Ambrose mentioned in a promo that the Wyatts got to Orton. It’s not confirmed, but this puts Randy Orton’s status for “Hell in a Cell” into question. If Orton isn’t able to wrestle this Sunday, it is curious what WWE will do about Ambrose not having a partner.

It’s unfortunate, but the match was placed on the preshow, so it wasn’t designed to carry the PPV this Sunday. There are other options for Ambrose to have a partner, including a brief debut of an NXT talent to help out Ambrose for the night. It’s unlikely that Reigns will pull double duty considering he has a Hell in a Cell match of his own against Bray Wyatt later on in the night.

There will be more on Orton’s condition, status and how this affects Sunday’s “Hell in a Cell” PPV as this story develops.
