It was announced the other day that Daniel Bryan will be co-hosting the “Cruiserweight Classic” series and seeing every single match first hand. The best word to describe Bryan’s opinion for the series is excited.
WWE.com recently caught up with Daniel Bryan to discuss his role, the roster of cruiserweights, and more to see what he thinks going into this competition before a single hold occurs.
You can watch the full interview with Daniel Bryan right here. Below are some of the highlights:
How excited are you to be a part of the “Cruiserweight Classic?”
“I think this whole thing is awesome. The whole concept is awesome. You bring in independent guys from all over the world. Like, I’m excited to see the guy from Chile here! What? There is wrestling in Chile? It’s not like his first rodeo. He’s been to Japan and all that kind of stuff. We really get a chance to see wrestlers from all over the world who are all the best where they are! They come here and compete in front of a WWE audience on The Network. I think that’s super cool and a huge opportunity for these guys.”
Is there anyone that you think is going to stand out?
“I think there are a lot of guys that are going to stand out. The cruiserweight style is a style that makes people stand out. I think Kota Ibushi is gonna knock the socks off of people. A guy like Zack Sabre, Jr. Who has a very British-technical style. Drew Gulak has a very old-school type style that you wouldn’t think of when you think of cruiserweights. The guy who I want to win because he’s my friend and I had my very first match against him is Brian Kendrick. “
Who do you think is going to win the “Cruiserweight Classic?”
