CM Punk Gives Samoa Joe Great Advice About WWE

Samoa Joe in WWE has been rumored and desired by wrestling fans for over a decade. According to Joe, he tried out for the WWE years ago in the early 2000’s. He claims Jim Ross told him that he wasn’t what the WWE was looking for and sent him on his way.

As a part of a “Table for Three” WWE program on the WWE Network, Joe discussed the irony of being in WWE now. Joe discussed his desire to move up to the main roster, but his intentions in signing with WWE is to become a crucial part of NXT and build that brand to be something important in the industry.

This week on NXT, Samoa Joe finally turned heel against Finn Balor. NXT has been missing a major heel since Kevin Owens left after NXT Takeover: Brooklyn. Now, NXT is in Joe’s hands as he builds a feud with NXT Champion Finn Balor.

WWE had a free public party yesterday at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas. Steve Austin, Lita, Booker T, Lana, Corey Graves, Mark Henry, executives of the Dallas Cowboys, and Arlington Mayor Jeff Williams were present. There were several NXT matches during the event, including Samoa Joe vs. Baron Corbin.
