In the days before Alberto Del Rio’s return to WWE at “Hell in a Cell”, he was a party to rumors and speculation about his status with Lucha Underground and AAA diminishing due to creative differences and pay.

Apparently, WWE negotiated and told Del Rio that once he made his return to the company that he would defeat John Cena clean in the center of the ring at the “Hell in a Cell” PPV and become the United States Champion. Del Rio agreed, and those plans were realized almost two weeks ago.

Del Rio was also told that he would receive a strong push afterward. The return was shocking, his title win accepted, but his alliance with Zeb Colter is what left some people confused.

Alberto Del Rio had to abandon AAA despite still being the reigning AAA Mega Champion. After not appearing at AAA TV taping on Monday, the promotion has pulled him from all advertisements. AAA’s show was also cancelled since they couldn’t book around the Del Rio issue.

According to Wrestling-Edge.com, Alberto Del Rio told AAA that Vince McMahon made him the United States Champion and gave him the win over John Cena. Therefore, he couldn’t lose on their promotion because it would make him look weak in WWE as a champion.

AAA is demanding that he drop their Heavyweight Title and are looking to have him work their last big show of the year on December 5th to do so.
