Alberto Del Rio vs. Jack Swagger Feud Update

If you didn’t watch Smackdown last night. WWE is moving forward with a feud between Alberto Del Rio and Jack Swagger for the United States “MexAmerican” Championship.

On Monday Night Raw this past Monday, Jack Swagger made a return to relevant WWE television in a backstage segment with Zeb Colter. It had been almost a year since Swagger had attention on Raw. Colter and Swagger discussed the former’s new attitude and alliance with Alberto Del Rio. The segment is below:

On last night’s Smackdown, Del Rio had a match with Neville. The US Champion won but continued a savage beatdown on The Man that Gravity Forgot. However, Swagger ran in to make the save.

Del Rio and Swagger then had an intense staredown until the tension subsided and cooler heads prevailed. The interaction between old rivals can be seen below:

Almost three years ago, Alberto Del Rio was the World Heavyweight Champion. Jack Swagger was gaining significant momentum as a face until he was caught in possession of marijuana and then WWE booking killed his momentum.

The most Swagger got was a good match at Wrestlemania 29. Unfortunately, he’s been treading water for the last two years and hasn’t been featured on WWE television at all in the last year.

This feud with Del Rio could finally bring a solid finish to the Del Rio vs. Swagger feud and maybe get the latter to greener pastures in WWE again.
