Brock Lesnar went on ESPN this morning for Sportscenter and revealed that at UFC 200 on July 9th, he’ll be facing Mark Hunt for his first fight in four years.
Also, Lesnar discussed during his appearance how the fight came to be and revealed that was him who made the call to return after a fifteen month struggle to forget about his derailed run in UFC.
After Lesnar made the announcement that he would face Hunt in just over a month, WWE made the following statement about the fight and emphasized that he will return to WWE programming before “Summerslam.”
“Brock Lesnar appeared on ESPN’s “SportsCenter” Monday to announce he will fight Mark Hunt at UFC 200 in his return to the octagon.
Hunt, the eighth ranked heavyweight in the world, has a professional record of 12-10-1 and is best known for his strong stand-up game and knockout power. Lesnar, a former UFC Heavyweight Champion, will attempt to neutralize Hunt’s punching power with his sheer strength and exceptional grappling.
Brock Lesnar will fight Mark Hunt at UFC 200 on July 9 on pay-per-view and then make his in-ring return to WWE at SummerSlam on August 21, only on WWE Network.”
