The success of the “Cruiserweight Classic” helped launch Raw’s Cruiserweight division while also giving the WWE fans a look at a lot of new talent. While the division’s success continues, Stephanie McMahon and HHH have another tournament planned.

It was reported that WWE was discussing the idea of a Women’s tournament that was to be very similar to the “Cruiserweight Classic.” Now that the CWC is over, the women’s tournament is staying to come to fruition.

The plan is for the tournament to be called the “World Women’s Classic,” which will feature the best non-WWE exclusive women in the industry in one tournament. The belief is WWE would launch the series in January or February of next year.

However, there is some concern about how the tournament would work since both Raw and SmackDown each have their own exclusive women’s rosters and titles. NXT could certainly use the roster boost, so a lot of the women WWE signs would head there.

The other concern is the “WWC” wouldn’t feel as important because both Raw and SmackDown already showcase women’s wrestling. As the series is being developed, everyone is working on it to make sure it feels important before it gets the green light.
