Corpoate Kane 2014

WWE has effectively “killed off” the Corporate Kane character or so it seems. Corporate Kane was the Director of Operations. That role on television was to be the middle man between talent and The Authority. Kane would book matches, take orders and protect Seth Rollins when necessary.

The Authority is here to stay. Authority figures are a necessary evil in WWE because the way the product is presented requires someone to run the show and make matches. The Authority could do this themselves, but having a Director of Operations be the boss on WWE television makes a lot of sense.

The Authority is all powerful, so it should be dealing with bigger issues than booking matches and dealing with talent. That’s what the Director of Operations role is designed to do. Kane’s successor hasn’t been named yet.
