It’s a very interesting scenario because it gives WWE several options about what to do on The Road to Wrestlemania. One possibility is for Reigns to retain the title, but that’s a safe option. WWE also has the option of putting the WWE title on twenty-nine other guys, including Brock Lesnar.
However, the latest reports are claiming that WWE’s current creative plans for the “Royal Rumble” match are going to see the match end in a controversy similar to the Rumble of 1994.
The most popular finish that is being discussed is the final two participants being Lesnar and Reigns. Whatever the controversial angle that WWE has planned is going to set up both men in a rematch for “Fastlane” next month. The winner of that match would obviously be defending the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania 32.
There is an issue of how WWE will handle the No. 1 contender situation for Wrestlemania, but the rumors about that are it won’t be a tournament since we just had one back in November after Seth Rollins vacated the WWE title.
