It’s a new way. Theme music is one of the most important aspects of a wrestler’s presentation. It gives you an early idea of what to expect from them and puts you in the right mood for the match you are about to see. The wrong music can be quite the detriment to any wrestler, but if you find the right one, everything can come together. That is what WWE is trying to do again.
One of the biggest stories from 2020 was Roman Reigns turning heel for the first time in several years. With Paul Heyman by his side, Reigns has become the top villain in WWE and one of the best in recent memory. This is the biggest change that Reigns has undergone throughout his main event run with the company, but now there is one thing left to change and WWE is working on it.
In a new interview with Bleacher Report, Reigns revealed that WWE is currently working on new entrance music for him. Reigns said that they are searching for the right vibe, as he does not want just standard rock or rap music. Since his debut on the main roster, Reigns has used the Shield theme song as his entrance, to the point where he times his walk to the ring to the beat of the song. There is no word on when the new music will debut.
Opinion: This is fairly long overdue but I’m almost worried about how the change is going to go. Reigns has used the same song for so long that it is almost impossible to imagine him using something else. Hopefully WWE takes time setting this up though, as the wrong music could damage the vibe that Reigns has built up. Reigns is the best thing going in WWE at the moment and I don’t want to see that slowed down.
