WWE Hall Of Famer Returning To Company This Weekend

Welcome home. You never know who you might see at a WWE event. The company has a huge roster on its own, but at the same time they also have a lot of alumni who might pop up every now and then. That can make for some big surprises, some of which are better than others. It can be rather interesting to see someone you haven’t seen in a long time, and that might be the case this Sunday.

Back at the 2015 Royal Rumble, Bubba Ray Dudley made a surprise appearance in the show’s namesake match. The event was held in ECW’s old stomping grounds of Philadelphia, meaning the crowd was rather pleased to see one of the company’s legends. Dudley is a big deal elsewhere too, and he might get to showcase that for WWE over the weekend.

WWE has posted a YouTube premiere for the Extreme Rules Watch Along, during which some current and legendary wrestlers will watch the show live. Included in the list is Dudley, who has not appeared for WWE since 2018. Dudley spent the last two plus years with Ring of Honor, with his contract expiring on April 1. There is no word on if this is a one off return or a permanent spot.

Opinion: I’m not the biggest Dudley fan, but I would much rather see him doing something small with WWE than being out there doing the same shtick in a place like Ring of Honor. There are only so many ways that he can be used elsewhere so putting him on the WWE payroll is a better move. Maybe not for WWE of course, which is why this may just be a one off moment, but I’ll take it over another “DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM” promo.
