Next week is looking big. With less than five weeks to go before “Takeover: Orlando”, it’s time to really start setting things up for the show. Thankfully that’s one of the places where “NXT” really shines and that’s what they’re going to be doing in the future. For the first show in March, NXT has one heck of a card ready.
This week on “NXT”, Peyton Royce won a triple threat match over Liv Morgan and Ember Moon to become #1 contender to the NXT Women’s Title. The title match will take place on the March 1 episode of “NXT”, making it the second title match on the same night. It was previously announced that the NXT Tag Team Champions the Authors of Pain will defend their titles against DIY in a rematch from “Takeover: San Antonio.”
Opinion: This is one of the things that “NXT” does better than almost anyone else: make a pretty standard TV match feel like it’s one of the biggest things in the wrestling world right now. We have two title matches on a show and it feels important, which is one of the hardest things to pull off in wrestling. The show should be fun and maybe something big will go down before the next major show.
