He would know. While the in-ring action is important to a wrestling show, it is often not the most important part. You also need a reason to stick around and watch the show, which is where promos come in. with the right story or speech about a match, wrestlers can draw in more eyes to whatever they are doing. Sometimes the story is a bit lost though and that seems to be the case again.
This week’s edition of Dynamite featured William Regal’s first interview since debuting with the company. During the speech, Regal mentioned that he did not have much time left due to health issues. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Regal’s health issues are “far more serious” than people knew and Regal’s statement was not just part of a story, which will be addressed on an upcoming edition of Talk Is Jericho. However, Regal has since responded to the story, saying that he is healthier than he has been in years. He also said that earlier this week, he spoke to someone about health issues he had in 2018.
Already…. That’s why I stay out the runour mill and gossip!!! I’ve just found out that there’s things being printed about my health. I am healthier than I’ve been in many years. I talked this week to someone about things that had happened to me in 2018.

Opinion: Unfortunately this is the kind of thing that happens from time to time as a story is told in one place and then it winds up being told in a completely different way through secondhand sources. What matters here is the fact that Regal’s health seems to be doing well though because 53 years old is way too early to be having those kind of serious issues. He seems happy in AEW and having him around for a long time sounds great.
