He will always be the Bruiserweight. To me anyway. NXT 2.0 star Pete Dunne made his debut on Smackdown this week, allying himself with Sheamus and Ridge Holland. However, he might have debuted under the name you know him as.

Dunne will now be known as Butch on Smackdown. You can see some clips of his debut below:

Sheamus and Ridge Holland have been in a feud with The New Day as of late. Last week, they destroyed the ATV that Big E got for his birthday, leading to a tag match between the two teams this week. Following the match, Butch would get involved and start beating down Kingston to end the segment.

Editor’s Opinion:

As soon as he was announced as Butch, I immediately knew that the Internet would blow up at this name change. Like all things WWE, this will take some time to get used to, but it doesn’t change the fact that Dunne is one of the most talented wrestlers on the roster. Pat McAfee also did a great job of acknowledging the fact that his name was being changed, but he also made it sound like they were doing it for storyline purposes. I’m happy that Dunne is getting his chance and can’t wait to see what he can do on SmackDown!
