It was a bit of a surprise. NXT has a lot of different things to make work as it is not your usual wrestling show. Rather than just standing alone as its own product, NXT also has to figure out a way to develop its wrestlers to be ready to move up to the next level. That can be made even more confusing when main roster wrestlers show up in NXT, which has been the case as of late. Now we have a better idea of what WWE is doing.

This week’s NXT featured a surprise title change as Dolph Ziggler won the NXT Title from Bron Breakker in a triple threat also including Tommaso Ciampa. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Ziggler’s title reign is expected to be a short one as it is designed to have Breakker win the title back on a major show. While not specified, this is likely NXT Stand & Deliver, which will take place on April 2 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.

Opinion: I don’t think this is exactly a big surprise and it isn’t exactly a big deal as Ziggler pinned Ciampa to win the title rather than Breakker. That leaves Breakker to get the title back on the big stage, which is certainly a good idea. I’m curious to see how well it works when it is kind of obvious, though Breakker has done rather well in his time so far so maybe they can pull it off again.

What do you think of the idea? How do you see the whole thing playing out? Let us know in the comments below.
