It was written in the card(s). We are less than two weeks away from WrestleMania 36 and the card is still being put together. With so many matches taking place on the show and the event having two nights instead of one, we could be in for a huge WrestleMania and some of the biggest matches of the year. You can see most of the card already, and one of the matches has been ready for a long time.
This year’s WrestleMania has been changed around quite a few times and that has caused a lot of the matches to receive less build than usual. That is the case with most of the matches on the show, as we could only be at the halfway point (if not before) of announced matches. Some of them have been set for a long time though, including one which has been on the books longer than any other.
According to Wrestling Observer Live, the Raw Women’s Title match between Becky Lynch and Shayna Baszler has been set for WrestleMania for months, if not over a year now. Lynch and Baszler were both part of the Survivor Series main event, also involving Bayley, and have had issues over the last few months. None of the current matches were set in stone before, with John Cena being planned to face Elias, and Brock Lesnar being scheduled to face either Drew McIntyre or Aleister Black. There is no word on how many matches will be on the finalized WrestleMania card.
It’s a long build. Check out how we got to Lynch vs. Baszler:
Opinion: This makes sense as they certainly made it clear that we would be seeing the match in some form at Survivor Series. Based on both the build to that match and the match itself, it would make sense to have their WrestleMania match set so far in advance. The match should be good, and hopefully it can live up to its considerable hype, which is going to be quite the task.
