I’d say they earned it. There are a lot of wrestlers in WWE today and a lot of them have matches every single week on WWE television. With so many people out there, it can be hard to keep track of everyone the company has around. Some of them are of course going to be more prominent than others and sometimes those wrestlers get to showcase themselves. That was the case this week on Monday Night Raw.
WWE is currently on the Road To WrestleMania and that means everything that takes place is using up some of the sacred television time. That puts it at a premium for any wrestler available and if someone can have a good performance on one of the shows, they are going to be in a pretty nice place going forward. It seems that we saw something similar during this week’s show.
This week’s Monday Night Raw opened with a match between Sheamus and Drew McIntyre which had been built for over a month and had originally been planned for Elimination Chamber. According to Fightful Select, the match was very well received backstage with Sheamus being considered especially hot in the ring as of late. A lot of the match was called in the ring, with McIntyre eventually winning with the Claymore.
These two had a heck of a match. Check out their showdown:
Opinion: It’s very nice to see this match get such praise because it really was one of the best television matches I’ve seen in a long time. Those two beat the fire out of each other and it was great to see the match get the time that it deserved. What makes it even better is the fact that the company understood and recognized how great it was so hopefully the two of them get another chance to do something similar in the future.
