Time for a flash back. This Sunday, WWE will be presenting its first ever all women’s pay per view called Evolution. For the first time ever, the show will be all about the women, ranging from the past to the present to the future. This includes legends like Trish Stratus and Lita, who are the inspirations for a lot of the current generation of wrestlers. With so much history, it’s worth looking back at what made them famous.
It’s famous for a reason.
WWE has released a new video of Stratus and Lita watching and commentating on their legendary main event from Monday Night Raw on December 6, 2004. The match marked the first time that a women’s match had been the featured match of a show and remained the high water mark for the women’s division for well over ten years. The two of them are scheduled to team up to face Mickie James and Alicia Fox (substituting for an injured Alexa Bliss) at Evolution.
Opinion: This is one of those things that are always cool to see. We’ve seen the match time after time but you can see a completely different look at the match with insight from the people involved. It really is an important match in history as it showed how big a women’s match could be. You see it so often today, but this was the first time that inspired a lot of people.
