Let’s try that. There are a lot of wrestlers in the world today and some of them are going to have some trouble finding a place to wrestle. A talented wrestler will always be able to find a place to go but it might not be at the highest level. That can be rather frustrating for some wrestlers and it might mean they need to change a few things. One recently released WWE star might be trying something else entirely on his own free will.
Former WWE star Kalisto has sent out a tweet showing a short video of two boxing gloves slamming together. The video includes the name Samurai Del Sol, the ring name Kalisto used before coming to WWE, and the words “COMING SOON”. The post is tagged with both Triller, a boxing organization, and boxeo, the Spanish word for boxing. Triller has staged several celebrity boxing events, including the Jake and Logan Paul fights.
Kalisto, 34 years old, was one of nine wrestlers released from WWE on April 15 after a nearly eight year career with the company. During his time in WWE, he won the United States Title and Cruiserweight Title twice each, as well as the NXT Tag Team Titles once. There is no word on where he will be wrestling next, though he will be under a no compete clause until the middle of July. It is not clear if this includes boxing as well.
Kalisto certainly has some talent. Check out the announcement plus what he can do in the ring:
Opinion: Now this could be interesting as there is the possibility that Triller could be interested in bringing in Kalisto as a boxer. Above all else, the promotion does seem to enjoy presenting some rather unique offerings and a masked luchador boxing might work out well for them. It certainly would be different and maybe the two sides can come to an agreement.
If nothing else, it can be interesting to see what a wrestler can do in another sport. Kalisto is a very talented professional wrestler and finding out what he could do in another sport could make for some fascinating moments. There is always the chance that this does not happen as Kalisto could probably write his own ticket on the independent scene for as long as he wants to, but maybe this is what he wants to do instead.
