Watch: Lillian Garcia Sings the National Anthem Before “Smackdown Live”

If there’s one thing WWE is always good at. Last night’s “Smackdown Live” took place on the Fourth of July, which of course meant it was time to break out the patriotism. In addition to John Cena returning to talk about the greatness of America and the red, white and blue ropes, WWE also did one of the best things they could have done: they brought in Lillian Garcia.

Before the show started, Garcia sang her rendition of the Star Spangled Banner, as is often her custom in WWE. Garcia no longer works for the company but is occasionally brought in for appearances, including singing the same song at “Tribute to the Troops 2016” last December. Here’s Garcia’s performance:

Opinion: I know Garcia isn’t the best ring announcer in the world but she can absolutely sing the heck out of that song. I’ve heard it performed live and it actually gave me a bit of a chill. She has an amazing singing voice and showcases that talent incredibly well every time she performs this song. It’s very smart for WWE to bring her in as I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone sing the National Anthem any better.
