He jumps to the left and he rolls to the right. While John Cena’s return to WWE dominated the headlines of this week’s “Smackdown Live”, there was a match that also had some important implications. This week’s main event was a battle royal to determine the #1 contender to Kevin Owens’ United States Title. As a result, Owens now has a challenger in place.

Will AJ Styles get to challenge Kevin Owens for the US Title?: SmackDown LIVE, June 27, 2017

The battle royal was won by AJ Styles, who earns a title shot at “Battleground 2017”. Styles last eliminated Sami Zayn to win the match and the title shot. Owens and Styles met for the title at “Backlash 2017” when Owens defeated Styles via countout when Styles’ foot got caught in the announcers’ table.

Opinion: This was the only real option and there’s nothing wrong with going the obvious route. Styles vs. Owens was a great match the first time around and there’s no reason to believe they won’t be able to do it again the second time. I don’t think Styles needs to win the title here but I’d lveo a major third match at “Summerslam 2017”.

Who do you think wins the match? Should the feud continue after “Battleground 2017”? Let us know in the comments below.
