Speak up? Roman Reigns is the dominant force on SmackDown and that seems likely to be the case for a long time to come. There are only so many people around who can give him a real challenge that it is weird to see someone give him an actual run for his money. That is the case with Kevin Owens though, who is giving Reigns some difficult title defenses. Owens has another shot coming up at the Royal Rumble and now he is going after Reigns’ right hand man again.
One of the important keys to Reigns’ rise has been Paul Heyman. While he has not done nearly as much talking as he would do with CM Punk or Brock Lesnar, Heyman’s mere presence has made Reigns feel like that much more of an evil monster. You can imagine the kind of things that he is putting in Reigns’ head and the results are hard to argue. Now Owens is going after Heyman for a different approach at Reigns.
This could be interesting. Check out what Owens did to Heyman on Friday:
This week’s edition of Talking Smack ended with Owens making a surprise appearance, causing Heyman to appear nervous. After staring at Heyman for a bit, Owens came over to him and said “feel it” in Heyman’s ear. Owens then shook Heyman’s hand and left, leaving Heyman looking annoyed to end the show. This is not the first time that Owens and Heyman have met on the show since the Owens/Reigns feud began.
Opinion: This is how you know you have a great feud: Reigns moving on to WrestleMania as champion is all but inevitable. However, Owens is making you think that maybe, possibly, somehow it could actually happen. That is almost impossible to imagine and yet Owens is making it happen. These subtle little things are the kinds of things that make Owens feel like a threat and that has been incredible to watch for the last few months.
