He was always good at promos. While getting in the ring to have a match is certainly one of the most important things in a wrestler’s career, the ability to talk and make someone care about you may be even more important. All of the in-ring abilities in the world aren’t going to matter if the fans have no reason to care about you, but if you get the fans’ attention, everything can work out well. That is the case with a former wrestler who is doing something else.
There have been thousands of wrestlers over the years and most of them have gone on to something else outside of the wrestling industry. Out of all of those wrestlers, very few have been as successful as Kane, who went on from one of the more successful WWE careers of all time to being Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee. That is quite the job, and Kane got to do something rather cool in his role for the holiday season.
This is rather nice. Check out what Kane did for the holidays:
WBIR 10, the NBC affiliate of Knoxville, Tennessee, has posted a video of Kane, under his real name of Glenn Jacobs, reading Twas The Night Before Christmas. The video shows Kane reading the poem with the camera looking at the book to show the words and pictures. At the end of the video, Kane wishes everyone Happy Holidays and a wonderful new year.
Opinion: Whether you agree with his politics or not, there is something cool about seeing someone famous for both the office he holds and the career that he had before in a video like this. The story is as quintessential of a Christmas poem as there is and seeing someone with a position like his reading it is nice in a way. There are no politics involved in the entire thing, and that’s how something like this should be.
