The anti-British invasion? Earlier this month, World Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury appeared on SmackDown and got into an altercation with Braun Strowman. A match between the two giants was set up for Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia on October 31 and fans seemed to be at least somewhat intrigued. The match would certainly have the battle of the monsters appeal to go along with the crossover sports aspect, both of which could combine into something interesting. There was still time before the match though and that is where the build comes in.
WWE has released a video of an angle they ran at the Performance Center on Tuesday. During the day, Fury was training in the ring at the Performance Center and running the ropes when Strowman ran in and shoulders Fury down. Fury came up favoring his ankle, but insisted that he did not need any form of medical attention. Strowman left after the incident as Fury shouted at him from the ring. Their match is still scheduled for next Thursday at Crown Jewel
It was a big deal. Check out the angle from the Performance Center:
Opinion: This is something that they needed to do to set up some interest in the match as they only have a little hype so far. Fury is a natural athlete and already looks comfortable in the WWE ring, so hopefully that can translate to an actual match. There is no guarantee to that though as various other athletes have not been able to make the transition so smoothly. Maybe things will work well when they get to Crown Jewel, though stranger things have certainly happened before.
What are you expecting from the match? Will it be a success? Let us know in the comments below.
