That’s a compliment….I think? Randy Orton debuted in WWE (WWF at the time) in April 2002 and hasn’t looked back since. With thirteen World Titles to his name, it’s safe to say that Orton is one of the biggest stars in wrestling history. He’s such a big star that Vince McMahon has allegedly bestowed quite an honor on him, at least unofficially.
According to Sportskeeda.com,
McMahon sees Orton as the “Roman Reigns of Smackdown” as they’re both considered McMahon’s personal projects. Orton is rumored to hold the Smackdown World Title for several months to come and his current push was decided on by McMahon himself back in August.
Roman Reigns vs. Randy Orton: Raw, May 4, 2015
Opinion: While this might be true as of now, McMahon is famous for changing his position on things like this at the drop of a hat. Couple this with the rapidly declining ratings and audience for “Smackdown Live” and it might be time for a change at the top sooner rather than later.
Do you like Orton in his current spot? Is he the Reigns of “Smackdown Live”? Let us know in the comments below.
