It had been previously reported that Tommaso Ciampa was injured at last night’s NXT Live Event from Highland Heights, Kentucky. He jumped off of the ring apron onto Eric Young, landed awkwardly and did not get up following the move.

Triple H participated in a media call with WrestlingInc this morning, and offered the following update on Ciampa’s condition:

“He turned his ankle somewhere [during the match],” Triple H said. “As a precaution everything shut down, it stopped, he got out of there. He went for an X-ray last night, and there’s no break or fracture. He’s got an ankle sprain. When I texted with him this morning, he was feeling better and was up moving around and felt like he was not going to have an issue with it. It was not really bothering him, it was not really as bad as they thought it was.”

Triple H Media Call: Tommaso Ciampa Injury, Hideo Itami's Future, Drew McIntrye, Jim Ross Returning

Ciampa, along with his partner, Johnny Gargano, are scheduled to challenge The Authors of Pain for the NXT Tag Team Championships tomorrow night at “NXT Takeover: Chicago.”

Editor’s Note:

Obviously, this is good news for all involved. Every time these two teams step in the ring, magic happens, and I hope that Ciampa will be 100% for tomorrow night’s contest!
