It just keeps growing. This weekend, NXT is presenting its annual WrestleMania weekend Takeover, which is almost guaranteed to be one of the best shows of the weekend, if not the entire year. With people moving up from NXT nearly in droves though, it’s time for someone new to show up and take the reigns of the brand. Tonight at Takeover, one such name was announced.
At Takeover: New York, it was announced that Kushida had signed with the company. Kushida, a former six time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion, has been rumored to be signing with the company for months. This time though, his signing was shown before he appeared in the crowd. There is currently no word on when Kushida will be making his first in-ring appearance.
They get these things up fast anymore. Check out the contract signing from earlier today:
Opinion: I’m certainly pleased as Kushida is my favorite New Japan wrestler. I have full confidence in NXT to make this work as they almost never fail with their new signings and if Kushida is even close to as good as he used to be, we should be in for a treat. Sometimes you need a ground based submission wrestler and that’s exactly what Kushida is going to offer to NXT.
What do you think of Kushida signing? Who should he feud with first? Let us know in the comments below.
