Expect NXT Mexico any day now. One of the bigger announcements from late last year was Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling teaming up to run a show at Madison Square Garden. This is quite the change as no promotion other than WWE had run the venue in decades. It didn’t sit well with WWE, but now someone else is heading to the same arena to make things even worse.

Today at a press conference, Lucha Libre AAA (from Mexico) announced that they will be running an event at Madison Square Garden on September 15 with tickets going on sale May 5. The company has tried to run events at the venue before but had to cancel for one reason or another. There is no talent announced for the show yet, though Tessa Blanchard and Taya Valkyrie had a staredown. The company is already hinting at running a show in Los Angeles later in the year.

You can see it for yourself. Check out the press conference right here:

Opinion: I’m not sure how well this is going to go for the company but it’s certainly something that warrants attention. Just seeing another wrestling company, no matter where they’re from, running Madison Square Garden is astounding and while I can’t imagine it’s going to hurt WWE there, they aren’t going to be happy about it but there isn’t much they can do at the moment.
