WrestleMania 35 is nearly here and fans expect to go home happy. But that’s also true of fans watching around the world as well. Vince McMahon’s company has set the tone for this gigantic event and all signs point to the top babyfaces coming away with wins in their matches.

It’s the right thing to do in nearly every instance and while some would debate that point, it’s obvious that WWE has led the audience in that direction. Becky Lynch, Kofi Kingston and Seth Rollins are on the way to championship immortality and they should win at Mania on April 7. But what if they don’t?

It’s an outcome that no one wants to talk about, but it’s indeed possible that one, if not all, of the aforementioned talents could leave The Showcase of the Immortals empty handed. The fact that many believe WWE could even contemplate going with heels over the underdogs is proof that there’s virtually no faith left in the company.

Common sense says that Lynch, Kingston and Rollins will all come out on top. All three have fought the odds over the past several months and longer, which means that a payoff is imminent. There is no better place for that payoff than WrestleMania, where feuds are settled and rivalries come to an end.

Watch Becky Lynch recall her road to WrestleMania!

But this is WWE of course and everyone knows that common sense is not always in play. Shock TV is still a very real concept in WWE and that’s been proven time after time, especially over the past year.

Becky Lynch’s rise as “The Man” came from out of nowhere. She caught fire and exploded in popularity, gaining steam like very few before her ever have. Becky got over despite being overshadowed by both Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey. She proved that hard work and determination still mean something in WWE.

It’s a journey that fans were more than happy to share with her. They followed along as Becky raged against the machine in a one-woman war with the establishment. Lynch was pushed down every week and every week, she pushed back. Yes, WWE took advantage of her popularity and stacked the deck against her. No, it’s not the first time that’s happened.

Perhaps the most famous example of the WWE underdog story is Daniel Bryan in 2013. His storyline found new life with Becky of course but now there’s another underdog fighting for respect and his name is Kofi Kingston.

Watch Kofi Kingston sign his WWE title match contract!

Like Becky, Kingston is now in the midst of finally getting his moment in the spotlight as well. He may not have been white hot like Becky but he’s a sentimental favorite nonetheless. Kofi deserves the WWE Championship and fans know it.

He’s put the time in and he’s earned his spot. To see him finally win a world title would be a dream come true for fans around the world. But when it comes to working hard and always delivering every time his number is called, very few in the business can do it like Seth Rollins.

The Kingslayer is stepping up to take the reins of Monday Night Raw. Rollins wants the Universal Championship and he’s done everything necessary to get it. Seth carried the red brand before Roman Reigns went on the shelf and he definitely carried it afterward as well. Seth Rollins is a top guy and now he can finally wear the top title on WWE’s flagship program.

But what if Brock Lesnar beats him? What happens if Daniel Bryan goes over on Kofi? What’s Becky’s next move if Charlotte or Ronda win? In each instance, the babyface has been designed to win championship gold and in each instance the babyface could leave with nothing. So what if that happens at WrestleMania 35?

Watch Seth Rollins take the fight to Lesnar!

A Rollins loss to Lesnar would not be such a shock. Brock signed a new contract with WWE in 2018, which means he’s not going anywhere any time soon. The possibility of The Beast Incarnate retaining his title at Mania is indeed greater than many fans want to admit.

A Kingston loss perhaps wouldn’t be as surprising either, though it would certainly be disappointing. Big E and Xavier Woods fought their hearts out to get Kofi to this spot but it’s entirely possible that they could turn on Kingston at Mania. It definitely seems to be inevitable at some point. What if that point comes on April 7?

Becky Lynch’s story began on a great note but it’s become a massive struggle for The Man to keep her head above water. Fans know that it’s part of the show, just as they know she’s finally at the finish line. But if she doesn’t win at WrestleMania, would it really be all that shocking?

The fact is that WWE has three top babyfaces primed and ready to win the day at WrestleMania 35. Lynch, Kingston and Rollins are all on the precipice of greatness and with any luck, they will all win. But in the world of WWE, anything is possible. There’s a good chance that one, if not all, of the trio could be taken in different directions by the time WrestleMania goes off the air. Fans know what they want. But they also know to never say never when it comes to WWE.
