They’re not done yet. There is a lot of wrestling to be seen on almost any given night of the week. One of the busiest is Wednesday night, which features AEW Dynamite as well as NXT airing at the same time. NXT tends to go on a little bit longer with a slight overrun though, meaning there is some extra content that you don’t get on Dynamite. That was the case again this week in a big way.
As we head towards Sunday’s Takeover: Portland event, the major feud in NXT is Adam Cole vs. Tommaso Ciampa over Cole’s NXT Title. Ciampa was forced to vacate the title last year due to a neck injury and is coming to get what he never lost. That has gotten the fans even more behind his him and all roads lead to this Sunday. The two of them got in each others’ faces on Wednesday to end the show but things weren’t over yet.
WWE has uploaded a pair of videos from after NXT went off the air. The first video shows Cole attempting to attack Ciampa with the NXT Title but getting caught in the Fairy Tale Ending, allowing Ciampa to pose with the title. The second shows Ciampa talking about what he has put into the wrestling business over the years and how he has promised to bring the title home to his wife and daughter.
You can feel the emotion. Check out both segments:
Opinion: NXT has not been the same since the show moved to two hours but dang they have nailed this feud. I get the feeling that Ciampa absolutely needs to win the title and that is the kind of thing you don’t get to feel in wrestling very often. They have done a great job with making the title feel that important and if they can deliver in the match, which they should, they’re going to be more than fine.
