That’s a big one. This week’s Monday Night Raw was built around two big stories: the return of Roman Reigns and Ric Flair’s 70th birthday party. As soon as Flair’s party was scheduled to go on last, it was clear that something was going to be going down. Since it’s almost WrestleMania time, it was a question of what was going to be happening and now we can see where it’s going.
Monday Night Raw ended with Flair set to come to the ring for his celebration, only to be attacked (off screen) by Batista, who ran into Flair’s locker room and beat him down. Batista dragged him out of the room and asked if he had Triple H’s attention now. Triple H vs. Batista has been rumored as a WrestleMania 35 match since last year’s 1000th episode of SmackDown Live.
It was rather villainous. Check out the attack and ensuing challenge:
Opinion: I’m intrigued by this. Batista vs. Triple H is a huge rivalry and something that is worthy of a WrestleMania spot (especially with Batista being in the new Avengers movie that comes out the same month) and we haven’t seen a lot of Triple H as the good guy. He’s going to be motivated here and coming back from the torn pectoral muscle could make things a little different. It could be a disaster, but there’s some potential there as well.
