Video: Great Khali’s Greatest Moments

He can step on toes and keep on walking. Great Khali is one of the biggest wrestlers of all time and actually had a pretty successful career. It’s not everyone who gets to beat Undertaker down, win the World Heavyweight Championship and squash John Cena. While he might not be remembered as fondly as some other wrestlers, he did have a run in WWE and it’s worth being looked at again.

In honor of his 45th birthday, WWE has posted a new video looking at the Top Five Moments In Great Khali’s career. Khali debuted in WWE in 2006 as a foil for the Undertaker and lasted all the way until 2014, winning the World Heavyweight Championship in 2007. He went on to become a comedy character in the later years of his career, eventually becoming the Punjabi Playboy. Khali’s most recent appearance was in this year’s Greatest Royal Rumble.

Opinion: I know Khali wasn’t the most popular guy in the world but I find it to be a case of “well what else did you expect?” Khali was one of the biggest guys in wrestling history and someone who can only do so much. He could do the big double chokeslam and the chop, which is all he really needed to be able to do. Any giant who eventually loses is going to be downgraded and that’s what happened to Khali. To be around eight years is actually not bad, and Khali wasn’t as bad as people made him out to be.
