He’s back and with a new partner. Every now and then, a wrestler just clicks with the fans and everything works. It might not last forever or even for very long, but for a little while, it’s the coolest thing around. With a crown like the NXT faithful, the fans are going to get into it even more because they’re such a tight knit unit. That’s the case with Eric Bugenhagen and now he’s back for an encore.
Bugenhagen plays air guitar to his own music and usually performs with NXT ring announcer Kayla Braxton. Now that Braxton has moved up to the main roster and been replaced by Alicia Taylor, a former rock and roll drummer. The two were together for the first time at a house show this week in Omaha, Nebraska and got to perform for the first time. NXT tweeted a video of the moment:
Opinion: There are some things that just work in wrestling and that’s what they had here. NXT is one of those rare places where wrestling fans can have some fun with characters that belong to them. Bugenhagen isn’t going to be getting to the main roster anytime ever, but he’s going to get out there and have fun with the fans. Putting the announcers in there for some fun with him is a great idea and this worked very well again.
