The man of 1000 holds has used his last one. According to a new report from Sports Illustrated, Dean Malenko has quit WWE after being with the company for 18 years as a backstage agent.

The report states that his greatest strengths as an agent were booking tag matches, finding ways to highlight shorter talent, and his knowledge of a technical style that is far different from the WWE brand of wrestling.

Dean Malenko is considered by many to be one of the best technical wrestlers of all time. Here is a clip of him in action:

It is unknown what his future is at this point.

Malenko had incredible success in WCW and a second generation star, trained by his father, the great Boris Malenko. Pro Wrestling Illustrated ranked him No. 1 in their annual “PWI 500” in 1997.

We will continue to monitor this story and provide any updates as they become available to us.

Editor’s Thoughts:

This sucks. The Iceman was always one of my favorite wrestlers when I was growing up and I feel that he has a tremendous mind, both inside and outside of the ring.
