The field is set. Starting next week, WWE will be airing a twelve week show called “Mixed Match Challenge” featuring mixed tag team matches pitting “Monday Night Raw” teams vs “Smackdown Live” teams. The show has been heavily promoted on the main WWE shows and we now have something very important.

WWE has released the official brackets for the competition. There are twelve teams in the tournament with six first round matches. Each first round match will features a “Monday Night Raw” team vs. a “Smackdown Live” team. You can see the brackets below, followed by the video announcement.

Finn Balor/Sasha Banks
Shinsuke Nakamura/Natalya

The Miz/Asuka
Big E./Carmella

Braun Strowman/Alexa Bliss
Sami Zayn/Becky Lynch

Goldust/Alicia Fox
Jimmy Uso/Naomi

Elias/Bayley
Rusev/Lana

Apollo Crews/Nia Jax
Bobby Roode/Charlotte

You might be noticing that the brackets don’t line up exactly as there are only twelve teams. Whoever comes out of the bottom four teams (Elias/Bayley through Roode/Charlotte) will face a team who has already been eliminated but gets to return to the competition via a fan vote to be held later in the competition.

Here’s the video announcement of the brackets:

WWE Mixed Match Challenge official bracket revealed: WWE Now

Opinion: I wasn’t thinking much of this when it was announced but now, I’m actually looking forward to it a little bit. The shows only being about half an hour each and only having one tag match per episode means it won’t be overstaying its welcome. Throw in some fun pairings and potentially interesting matches and this could be a fun concept.
